Garrett turbochargers are often equipped with actuators produced by Hella. They are used exclusively with diesel engines, mostly in VGT regulation.

Known faults
Sporadically occurring problems with charging pressure control – usually an error code concerning charging pressure control will be stored.
The vehicle is on reduced power, check engine light is on. Turning the ignition off and then on again solves the problem in most of the cases, the vehicle works perfectly for a while – and then the fault occurs again.
Note
As the potential faults of this device may occur due to exceptionally diverse external factors, it is extremely difficult to perform a successful initial check. The intermittent, sporadic occurrence of the given faults makes it very tedious to check the unit on a test bench, as the working environment cannot be simulated to full extent. Therefore, in the case of these units, we are offering general overhaul for the device as a whole.
On the market, actuators are often only available in combination with the entire turbocharger, which is often expensive. Given that, an overhaul by ecu.de is economically much more beneficial.
