The EAC-Fail (or EAC Fail) fault message at the display of your instrument cluster indicates that there is a problem within the throttle body control and/or the acceleration control system. Indication at your vehicle can be:
- car switches frequently into limp mode and therefore the engine has no power
- the instrument cluster shows the “EAC Fail” fault message
- in the initial period you can remedy the fault by restarting your car
- but after a while the fault will occur again
- the fault arises at increasing intervals until it remains
- the readout of the trouble code in the PCM (Engine Control Unit) has usually one or more trouble codes within acceleration sensor or throttle valve
(P2138, P2122, P2123, P2127, P2119)
Known affected cars are Ford Fiesta & Ford Fusion from 2001 to mid year 2004 with the engines:
- 1.25L Duratec-16V (Zetec-SE)
- 1.4L Duratec-16v (Zetec-SE)
- 1.6L Duratec-16V (Zetec-SE)

!Important!
