Repair of the DQ381/ DQ500 (with Bosch control unit)

The 7-speed DSG transmission DQ381 and the DQ500 (0GC / 0DL) with Bosch control unit from VW, which was used in many vehicles of the VAG Group, is an electronically controlled dual-clutch transmission.
Since 2016, it has been gradually replacing the 6-speed DSG transmission DQ250 (02E) in the new models.
Known faults of the DQ381/ DQ500 (testing & repair possible with us):
- P0805 Clutch position sensor function faulty
- P1735 (10666) Clutch position sensor 1, electrical error
- P1736 (10668) Clutch position sensor 2, electrical error
DQ381/ DQ500 faults to be looked for on the vehicle:
- P0C29 (35494) Auxiliary hydraulic pump transmission
- P175D Clutch 1 opens unintentionally
- P176E Clutch 2 opens unintentionally
- P0928 Solenoid for selector lever lock – interruption in circuit
The DQ381/ DQ500 uses a wet clutch. This type of clutch is immersed in oil, which allows for better cooling and a longer service life. The DQ381/ DQ500 is designed for a maximum torque transmission of up to 420/ 600 Nm, making it suitable for a wide range of engines, including powerful variants such as the VW Golf R.
Once the DQ381/ DQ500 has been tested and repaired by us, the basic setting must be carried out using a diagnostic tester after installation.
